  • 2 cups shredded rotisserie chicken
  • 1 cup uncooked orzo pasta

  • 1/3 cup apple vinegar
  • 4 garlic cloves, grated
  • 1 shallot, finely diced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • Fried capers for garnish

Instructions

  1. Begin by frying the drained capers in olive oil over medium heat for about 5 minutes until crispy. Set aside.
  2. In a Dutch oven, melt butter and sauté shallots until softened. Add garlic and cook briefly.
  3. Stir in flour, then pour in the chicken broth and apple vinegar. Season with salt and pepper; bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat and add cream and Parmesan cheese; simmer for 15 minutes.
