  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter (melted)
  • 3/4 cup Brown sugar (packed light or dark)
  • 3 Large ripe bananas (mashed)
  • 2 Large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup Sour cream (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp Pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips (plus a little extra to go on top of batter.)
  • 1/4 cup Mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and prepare a 9X5 loaf pan with non-stick spray and parchment paper.
  2. Sift together all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. Mash ripe bananas in a small bowl until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, whisk melted butter and brown sugar until combined. Add mashed bananas, sour cream, and vanilla extract; mix well.
  5. Incorporate eggs one at a time, followed by the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
