Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans (toasted)
  • For the glaze: 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Toast the pecans on a baking sheet for about 5–7 minutes until golden brown.
  2. In a bowl, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla; mix well.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients until just combined.
  4. Gently fold in the cooled pecans. Scoop rounded dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them apart.
  5. Bake for about 10–12 minutes until edges are golden but centers remain soft. Cool on the baking sheet for five minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  6. For the glaze: Melt butter and brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat; stir in milk until smooth and whisk in powdered sugar until glossy. Once cookies are cool, drizzle glaze generously over each cookie.
