  • 2 tablespoons plain yogurt (for marinade)
  • 1 cup plain yogurt (for tzatziki)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • Fresh oregano
  • 2 lemons (for marinating and serving)
  • 1 cucumber (for tzatziki)
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil (plus more for grilling)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes if using.
  2. In a bowl, mix salt, yogurt, minced garlic, oregano, pepper, lemon juice, and olive oil. Add chicken pieces and coat well. Cover and marinate for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  3. For the tzatziki sauce, squeeze excess water from grated cucumber and mix with yogurt, garlic, salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Chill until ready to serve.
  4. Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
  5. Thread marinated chicken onto skewers alternating with lemon slices.
  6. Grill skewers for about 5–7 minutes on each side until chicken is cooked through.
  7. Serve hot alongside chilled tzatziki sauce.
