  • 6 medium sweet apples (like Gala or Honeycrisp)
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar (or water)
  • 1/2 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Core and slice the apples without peeling them and place them into a large slow cooker.
  2. Pour apple cider vinegar (or water) over the apples and sprinkle with cinnamon, vanilla extract, cloves, nutmeg, and sea salt. Stir until well combined.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 5-6 hours until apples are very soft.
  4. Blend until smooth using an immersion blender (or transfer to a standard blender).
  5. Turn slow cooker to high and cook uncovered for an additional 1-2 hours to thicken.
  6. Cool before transferring to airtight containers for storage.
