  • 1 pint strawberries
  • 1 cup water (for syrup)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 family-size tea bags (or 8 regular tea bags)
  • 8 cups water (divided)
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional: sliced lemon and additional strawberries for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Strawberry Syrup: Wash and quarter the strawberries. In a medium saucepan, boil strawberries with 1 cup of water for 10-15 minutes until softened. Strain out pulp and stir in sugar. Boil for an additional minute and set aside to cool.
  2. Brew Tea Concentrate: Boil 4 cups of water in another pot. Pour boiling water over tea bags in a heat-proof container and steep for 5 minutes before discarding bags. Combine concentrated tea with remaining cold water in a pitcher.
  3. Combine: Once cooled, stir the strawberry syrup into the brewed tea mixture.
  4. Serve: Fill glasses with ice and pour in the strawberry iced tea. Garnish as desired.
