  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 3 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 cup finely ground almond flour
  • ⅓ cup sliced almonds
  • For honey syrup: ⅓ cup honey and ⅓ cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Grease an 8” cake pan and line with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cream butter and sugar in a stand mixer until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and almond extracts, then slowly mix in the eggs.
  4. Gradually add the dry mixture until just combined, then fold in almond flour.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan and top with sliced almonds.
  6. Bake for 28-35 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Prepare honey syrup by heating honey and water until combined; pour over the warm cake after removing from the oven.
