  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 head broccoli florets
  • 13 ounces turkey sausage, sliced
  • Cooked white rice, for serving
  • Chopped parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes until smooth. Reserve two-thirds of the sauce.
  2. Marinate shrimp in the remaining one-third of the sauce for at least 20 minutes.
  3. Heat one tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook broccoli until tender-crisp (about 5 minutes), then set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of olive oil and brown the sliced turkey sausage (4-5 minutes). Add marinated shrimp (discard leftover marinade) and cook until pink and opaque (1-2 minutes per side).
  5. Pour in reserved honey garlic sauce and simmer for 3-5 minutes until slightly thickened. Toss in broccoli to combine.
  6. Serve over cooked white rice and garnish with chopped parsley.
