  • 1 3/4 tsp ground nutmeg (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract until well incorporated.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in the diced apples gently to ensure even distribution.
  7. Prepare the coating by mixing granulated sugar with cinnamon and nutmeg in a small bowl.
